Spotify Redesign

Type: UI/UX Design Role: UI Designer Year: 2025
Figma UI/UX Responsive Design Prototyping

Overview

A complete responsive UI redesign of Spotify created in Figma. The project covers both the home page and a secondary content page, each designed across three breakpoints: desktop, tablet, and mobile.

Pages & Breakpoints

  • Home Page — Desktop View: Full navigation, featured playlists grid, sidebar player
  • Home Page — Tablet View: Adapted grid layout, collapsible navigation
  • Home Page — Mobile View: Bottom navigation, vertical scrolling feed
  • Secondary Page — Desktop View: Album/playlist detail with track listing
  • Secondary Page — Tablet View: Responsive track layout
  • Secondary Page — Mobile View: Full-screen immersive player

Design Decisions

I focused on improving content density on desktop while maintaining touch-friendly targets on mobile. The redesign emphasizes album artwork and uses a refined color system that enhances the dark theme without sacrificing readability.

What I Learned

Designing at three breakpoints forced me to think about responsive design as a system, not just a set of media queries. Understanding how navigation patterns, grid systems, and interaction patterns change across devices was invaluable.
